Wrestling Australia are pleased to announce the appointment of the following National Coaches:

Africa and Oceania Olympic Games Qualifier 

The Africa and Oceania Olympic Games Qualifier was conducted in Tunisia from the 2nd-4th April 2021.  Wrestling Australia sent four wrestlers to the Olympic Qualifier:

65kgs Freestyle- Mostafa Rezaeifar

86kgs Freestyle- Jayden Lawrence

97kgs- Thomas Barns

53kgs Females- Irene Symeonidis

The team was accompanied by the Head Coach Aminullah Yaqhobi

 

Appointment of High Performance Roles

The following 2 National Coaching Roles were appointed in October 2020, these positions will be in place for 1 years:

Assistant Greco-Roman Coach- Amir Gholiizadeh

Assistant High Performance and Development Manager- Jakob Panotas

Assistant Female Coach- Carissa Holland

 

Appointment of Nationals Coaching Role

The following 6 Nationals Coaching Roles were appointed in October 2019, these positions will be in place for 2 years.

Nationals Greco-Roman Coach - Adrian Tesanovic

Nationals Assistant Greco-Roman Coach - Ben Keaney

2019 Senior World Championships

Wrestling Australia will be sending a team of 3 athletes to the 2019 Senior World Championships:

Female 55kgs: Irene Symeonidis

Male 70kgs: Josh Riley

2018 Youth Olympic Games

Wrestling Australia is happy to have one representative at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games:

Wrestling Australia is happy to announce that one athlete will be representing Australia at the 2017 Cadet World Wrestling Championships.
