2025 Thailand Open

August 5^th – 9^th, Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand

Competition Information

The 2025 Thailand Open will be held at the above listed date and location. The following age and weight classes will be contested at the 2025 Thailand Open:

Senior Greco Roman

• 55/60/63/67/72/77/82/87/97/130kgs

Senior Women’s Wrestling

• 50/53/55/57/59/62/65/68/72/76kgs

Senior Freestyle

• 57/61/65/70/74/79/86/92/97/125kgs

Weight Tolerance: 2kgs

Selection Process

All athletes that wish to be selected to attend the Thailand Open must meet the following criteria:

• Compete at the 2025 National Wrestling Championships (28^th and 29th June, 2025, Sydney) in the U20, U23 or Senior age class.
• Submit an expression of interest by 14^th June 2025.
• Expression of Interent Form 

Additional Information

Athlete that are in the U20 and U23 age class are permitted to compete in the Senior age class at the Thailand Open, only if they are turning 18 in 2025.

Athletes must compete in the same weight class at both the 2025 National Wrestling Championships and the Thailand Open.

All athletes need to be a member of Wrestling Australia at the time of the 2025 National Championships and the Thailand Open.

All athletes must have no debt outstanding to Wrestling Australia at time of registration to the event.

All athletes must hold an Australian Passport to be able to apply for a 2025 United World Wrestling athlete licence or have completed the UWW athlete transfer process.

Costs

Attendance at the 2025 Thailand Open is self-funded, all athletes must make payment for the following by the 5^th July.  Failure to make payment will result in the athlete not being registered for the event:

• Flights to and from the event
• Accommodation at the competition – for a minimum of 3 days.

Approximately $210 per day.

• 2024 United World Wrestling Licence
• 200 for Seniors
• Entry Fee
• Any other expenses that arise during the time of competition that are not included in the participation fees
