Tri-State Cup

Resgister here: Melbourne Tri-State Cup Registration

The Tri-State Cup is a women only freestyle wrestling tournament open to all experience levels in ACT, NSW and Victoria.

  • For beginners, it’s a stepping-stone into the wider competition scene. It gives you the experience and confidence to have a go at the State Championships, Super Series and other great events of that calibre.
  • For experienced competitors, this comp is great to test out new things you’re working on and get matches in.
  • The tournament is run in a round robin format. Every competitor is guaranteed three matches.
  • It’s FREE to compete at the Tri-State Cup.
  • Because of the way the divisions are determined the Tri-State Cup age restriction is 14 years and up.

Its schedule is every six months with the states taking turns to host – that’s two competitions a year in April and October.

The fine print

Competitors MUST be a current member of either – NSW Wrestling, ACT Wrestling or Wrestling Victoria.

We encourage you to be registered in the state you live and train, but if price is an obstacle, competitors from out of state can join ACT Wrestling, the cheapest option. State memberships are valid for one year from the date of registration.

NSW prices

  • Seniors: $100 / Schoolage:$70

ACT prices

  • State Level Senior: $85 / State Level Schoolage: $45

Victoria prices

  • National Level Senior 18 years and over: $170

Why do we need it?

  • It bridges the confidence and experience gap between training and full-on competition with an alternative pathway.
  • It creates a space where women’s participation on the mats, in the governing bodies, in officiating roles and as fans and spectators of the sport – can grow.
  • To maintain the momentum of all the great initiatives and programs already in play like NSW Wrestling’s 12 week Women’s Wrestling Program.
  • It’s fun.
