2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Invitation Championships

8^th-13^th May 2025, Singapore

Competition Information

The 2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Invitation Championships will be held at the above listed date and location. The following age and weight classes will be contested:

Senior Greco Roman

• 55/60/67/77/82/87/97/130kgs

Senior Women’s Wrestling

• 50/53/57/62/65/68/72/76kgs

Senior Freestyle

• 57/65/74/79/86/92/97/125kgs

U17 Women’s Wrestling (15 with medical and parental certificate)

• 46/49/53/57/61/65/69/73kgs

U17 Freestyle (15 with medical and parental certificate)

• 48/51/55/60/65/71/80/92kgs

Selection Process (Senior and U17)

All Senior and U17 athletes that wish to be selected to attend the 2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Invitation Championships must meet the following criteria:

• Complete the relevant expression of interest form and return it to admin@wrestling.com.au by the 11st of March.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Participate in the pre-event training camp scheduled for the 23^rd-29^th April 2025 at the AIS in Canberra 
• Be eligible to compete for Australia at a UWW competition

Additional Information

Australia is permitted to send 2 entries per weight class for a maximum of 5 weight classes per style and age class.

All athletes need to be a member of Wrestling Australia at the time of the 2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Invitation Championships.

All athletes must have no debt outstanding to Wrestling Australia at time of registration to the event.

All athletes must complete all required sports integrity training.

All athletes must hold an Australian Passport to be able to apply for a 2025 United World Wrestling athlete licence or have completed the UWW athlete transfer process.  

Selection

Selection of athletes for the 2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Invitation Championships will be made on a case-by-case basis by Combat AUS based on the expressions of interest that are received.

Selectors will prioritise athletes that participated and placed within the top 3 athletes at the 2024 Australian National Championships and the 2024 Southeast Asian and Oceania Wrestling Tournament.

Costs

Attendance at the 2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Invitation Championships is self-funded, all athletes must make payment for the following by the 1^st of April 2025.  Failure to make payment will result in the athlete not being registered for the event:

• Flights to and from the event
• Accommodation at the competition – for the minimum required stay in accordance with the competition requirements
• 2024 United World Wrestling Licence
• 200 for Seniors
• 100 for U17
• Entry Fee
• Any other expenses that arise during the time of competition that are not included in the participation fees
