NSW Cup 2024
NSW Cup is an official NSW Wrestling competition. Open to Senior, Junior, U17 and Youth divisions.
NSW Cup 2024
Get ready for our second official state copetition of 2024 as the NSW Cup compeittion comes to NCIE Redfern once more.
Where/When ?
The tournament will take place on Sunday 8 of September at NICE Redfern. Normal registerations end on Tuesday 3rd of September. Late registerations after this date will incure in an additonal $50 registeration fee ! Please register early to avoid paying the late registeration fee and to help us plan the event better.
Rules
- Youth (all age groups below 17) competition start time: 8:15AM (estimated )
- All other divisions estimated competition start time: 12:00PM
- Weigh-in times for Youth (U17 and below) groups: 7:30-8:00
- Weigh-in times for non-Youth groups: 11:30AM-12:00PM.
- Weigh-in time for adults: You may weigh-in earlier and at Youth weigh-in times if you wish to.
- All participants must be members of NSW Wrestling. You will not be able to compete without a valid membership due to legal/insurance regulations. There is no exceptions to this rule.
- There will be no extra weight allowance at this competition. We regret to inform you that we cannot accommodate last-minute weight changes after the draw is completed. You will not be able to compete if you miss weight.
- For all age groups, we will adhere to the official UWW Ruleset.
- Singlets All wrestlers are required to participate in an approved wrestling singlet. The use of shorts, t-shirts, rash guards, and BJJ uniforms is strictly prohibited. Wrestling singlets only. When checking your match on smoothcomp match-ups, the wrestler on top will be Red and the wrestler on bottom will be Blue. You need two colors !
- Girls are allowed to wear long rash guards underneath their wrestling singlet for religious reasons.
- Wrestling shoes are mandatory and highly recommend for safety purposes. Please seriously consider your decision if you are competing without shoes. We prefer not to see broken feet and toes.
- A standard routine skin check may be carried out during the weigh-ins for safety purposes.
- The results will be utilized as a component of the selection criteria for other NSW events in 2024 and 2025, such as training camps, sponsorships etc.
- Normal registerations end on Tuesday 3rd of September. Please
- Australian citizenship is NOT required. This competition is open to all members of NSW Wrestling.

Wrestle Roos !
When entering your child in the event please follow the 2 step process to ensure the correct age/ weight division has been allocated.
Step 1 - The Age your child turns this calendar year is the age bracket they are in .
Step 2 - Weigh your child, if they are on the boarder of a weight division and you feel there is a possibility they will come in over weight put them in the next weight bracket up. We are unable to accomedate last minute changes.
The Drawing System for all divisions
Best of Three: For brackets with 2 participants.
True Round Robin: For brackets with 2-5 participants
Double Elimination: For brackets with 6 or more participants
Red/Blue Singlets
When checking your match on smoothcomp match-ups, the wrestler on top will be Red and the wrestler on bottom will be Blue. Please follow this simple rule to avoid delays and confusion on the competition day.

How are the Best Senior and Youth teams selected?
The Best Senior and Youth teams are manually calculated by us at the end of the day, based on the medals count. The point system is as follows:
- Gold = 5 points
- Silver = 3 points
- Bronze = 1 point
Please note that divisions with 2 or fewer participants are not considered in this calculation. Points will only be awarded in divisions with 3 or more participants.
Gold medals in Takedown Division are only counted towards the "Best Academy" prize.
