Women's Wrestling Program 2024

Welcome to the Women's Wrestling Program by NSW Wrestling! This program is sponsored by NSW Wrestling and is dedicated to increasing female participation in the sport of wrestling across New South Wales. Held in Sydney at three different gyms, this 12-week course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of wrestling to athletes with little to no wrestling experience. The course is offered by the two of the best female wrestlers/coaches in Australia. 

Program Details

Duration: 12 Weeks

Our program is offered at the following locations:

  1. Grappling Education, Kograh

    • Day & Time: Fridays, 7:30 PM
    • Instructor: Shine
    • Address: 45 Princes Hwy, Kogarah NSW 2217
    • Start Date: June 21, 2024
    • Cost: FREE, just drop in and fill the necessary forms.
  2. Forza Jiu Jitsu, Ashfield

    • Day & Time: Wednesdays, 7:30 PM
    • Instructor: Uka
    • Address: 267A Liverpool Rd, Ashfield NSW 2131
    • Start Date: June 5, 2024
    • Cost: FREE, just drop in and fill the necessary forms.
  3. Movement Martial Arts, Macquarie Park

    • Day & Time: Fridays, 7:00 PM
    • Instructor: Uka
    • Address: Building 3/35 Waterloo Rd, Macquarie Park NSW 2113
    • Start Date: June 21, 2024
    • Cost: First session free, $20 per session for mat fee for other sessions.

About Our Instructors

Nasanburmaa Ochirbat (Uka):


Uka hails from Mongolia and is currently the most accomplished wrestler residing in Australia. She is renowned in the international wrestling community and is a three-time Olympian and four-time World medalist. Some of her notable achievements include:

  • World Championships 2018: Silver Medal
  • World Championships 2008, 2011, 2013: Bronze Medals
  • Asian Championships 2013: Gold Medal
  • Member of FILA World Women’s Team: 4 years

Uka is passionate about teaching, especially to youth, junior age groups, and women, fostering a love for wrestling and helping athletes achieve their potential.

Shinekhuu Purevhuu (Shine):


Shine is another highly experienced and competitive wrestler from Mongolia. Having wrestled since childhood in Mongolia, Shine is currently undefeated in Australia and has extensive international experience. Her international accomplishments include:

  • World Military Championship 2018: Bronze Medal
  • Grand Prix Ivan Yargin Cup 2016: 5th Place

Shine brings her extensive knowledge and competitive spirit to the program, inspiring and mentoring new wrestlers.

Program Cost

NSW Wrestling offers this course free of charge to support and grow the womens wrestling community. However, please note that a small entrance fee may be charged by the hosting gym for using their facilities. Please feel free to contact the gyms directly for more info. 

Eligibility

This program is open to female athletes of all age groups.
