The 2024 Southeast Asian & Oceania Wrestling Tournament will be held at the above listed date and location. The following age and weight classes will be contested at the 2024 Southeast Asian & Oceania Wrestling Tournament:

Senior Greco Roman

Senior Women’s Wrestling

  • 50/53/57/59/62/65/72/76kgs

Senior Freestyle

  • 57/61/65/70/74/79/86/92/97/125kgs

U17 Women’s Wrestling (15 with medical and parental certificate)

  • 36-40/43/46/49/53/57/61/65/69/73kgs

U17 Freestyle (15 with medical and parental certificate)

  • 41-45/48/51/55/60/65/71/80/92/110kgs

U15 Women’s Wrestling (13 with medical and parental certification)

  • 29-33/36/39/42/46/50/54/58/62/66kgs

Selection Process (Senior and U17)

All Senior and U17 athletes that wish to be selected to attend the Southeast Asian and Oceania Wrestling Tournament must meet the following criteria:

  • Compete at the 2024 National Wrestling Championships (15th June, 2024, Melbourne)
  • Place within the top 3 athletes for the division
  • Be eligible to compete for Australia at UWW competition

Athletes competing in the U23 age category will also be considered eligible for selection to the respective senior category, as U23 is considered a senior age group internationally.

Selection Process (U15)

As U15 athlete categories are not available at the 2024 National Wrestling Championships, all U15 athletes that wish to be selected to attend the Southeast Asian and Oceania Wrestling Tournament must meet the following criteria:

  • Submit the completed expression of interest via email to admin@wrestling.com.au with a copy of the applicants Australian Passport by the 15th of June 2024.

Additional Information

U17 and Senior athletes must compete in the same age and weight class at both the 2024 National Wrestling Championships and the Southeast Asian and Oceania Wrestling Tournament.

Australia are permitted to send multiple entries per division. If all of the top 3 athletes in the same age and division wish to attend the competition, they will be permitted to do so.

Should any or all of the eligible athletes elect not to attend, no other athletes will be selected in their place.

All athletes need to be a member of Wrestling Australia at the time of the applicable World Wrestling Championship event.

All athletes must have no debt outstanding to Wrestling Australia at time of registration to the event.

All athletes must hold an Australian Passport to be able to apply for a 2024 United World Wrestling athlete licence or have completed the UWW athlete transfer process.

Costs

Attendance at the 2024 Southeast Asian and Oceania Wrestling Tournament is self-funded, all athletes must make payment for the following by the 26th of July.  Failure to make payment will result in the athlete not being registered for the event:

  • Flights to and from the event
  • Accommodation at the competition – for the minimum required stay in accordance with the competition requirements

Approximately $130 per day.

  • 2024 United World Wrestling Licence
    • 190 for Seniors
    • 90 for U17
  • Entry Fee
  • Wrestling Australia Uniform as required
  • Any other expenses that arise during the time of competition that are not included in the participation fees
