Selection Trials- 2024 Oceania Championships 

2024 Oceania Championships 

The 2024 Oceania Championships are scheduled to be held between the 26th to the 28th of January in Guam.

Selection Process 

All wrestler that wish to be selected to attend the 2024 Oceania Championships must meet the following selection process:

Seniors (non-Olympic weight classes only):

* Register to compete in the selection trials being held at the Australian Institute of Sport on the 24th of November. 

* Special consideration will be given to those athletes turning 18 in 2024 that wish to compete at the trials (see information on Higher Age Class).

* Attend the Wrestling Australia Senior High Performance training camp between the 22^nd and 26^th November 2023 at the Australian Institute of Sport.  Register here: Seniors - November Training Camp - Onsite - Wrestling Australia Ltd

* Attend the Wrestling Australia High Performance training camp (Seniors) between the 8^th and 12^th January 2024 at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Weight Classes:

FS: 61/70/79/92

GR: 55/63/72/82

WW: 55/59/65/72

U17:

* Register to compete in the selection trials being held at the Australian Institute of Sport on the 24th of November. 

* Special consideration will be given athletes turning 15 in 2024 that wish to compete at the trials (see information on Higher Age Class). 

* Attend Junior Development camp (U17 & U20) between 22^th and 24^th November 2023 at the Australian Institute of Sport.  Register here: U20 and U17 - November Training Camp - Onsite - Wrestling Australia Ltd

* Become highest ranked athlete in concerned weight category during trials (criteria to be announced).

Weight Classes:

U17 Males: 16-17 years of age (15 with medical and parental certificate)

41-45/48/51/55/60/65/71/80/92/110kgs

Under 17 Female: 16-17 years of age (15 with medical and parental certificate)

36-40/43/46/49/53/57/61/65/69/73kgs

U20:

* Register to compete in the selection trials being held at the Australian Institute of Sport on the 24th of November. 

* Special consideration will be given to those athletes turning 17 in 2024 that wish to compete at the trials (see information on Higher Age Class).

U20 Males Freestyle: 18-20 years (17 with medical and parental certificate)

57/61/65/70/74/79/86/92/97/125kgs

Under 20 Females: 18-20 years (17 with medical and parental certificate)

50/53/55/57/59/62/65/68/72/76kgs

Higher Age Class

Wrestling Australia will provide special consideration will be given to those that would be permitted to compete in the U17, U20 and Senior age class in 2024.

All those wishing to apply to compete in a higher age class must compete this application form and provide a medical certificate to admin@wrestling.com.au 

Aplications must be made by the 17th of November and will be provided of the deicions by the 19th of November.

Weight Classes 

CHECK THAT YOU HAVE ENTERED THE CORRECT AGE AND WEIGHT CLASS.

Wrestlers must weigh in exactly on or under their nominated category weight. No weight tollerance is allowed.

Please ensure that you enter the correct weight categories when you register for the competition.  No shifting of category or late entry will be considered on the day of the competition. If a wrestler does not make weight he/she will forfeit their matches and will only be allowed exhibition matches if and when available.

No weight changes are permitted after the registration deadline.
