Training Camp- 2023 Oceania Championships Preparation
Friday 23rd June to Sunday 25th June
Attendance is part of the 2023 -Oceania Championships Selection Process
The Wrestling Australia Training Camp will be hosted at the Australian Institute of Sport from June 23-25. This event will be available to both athletes and coaches to attend.
CombatAUS has appointed Andrey Vorontsov (former UWW Coaching Educator and athlete) as the Coaching and Athlete lead for this camp. He will be supported by Wrestling Australia High Performance Manager, Brett Cash.
Is the camp compulsory?
This training camp is complusory for athletes that have been selected to attended the 2023 Oceania Championships, see here.
Who else can attend?
Senior athletes are also invited to attend this camp, as it will be a valuable training opportunity in a high performance environment.
Under 18?
All athletes that are under 18 must be be accompanied by a guardian for the camp.
Cost
Cost will vary between those who stay onsite at the AIS or arrange their own accommodation. The default cost is $550 for 3 nights accommodation for those who require an early arrival to the camp on Thursday 22nd June.
If you are arriving on the start date of Friday, 23rd June, please apply discount code 'ONSITE' to remove additional accommodation fee.
Onsite: Accommodation, meals, facility hire = $450
Offsite: Meals and facility hire only (For discount code, email kyle.weekes@combataus.com.au) = $250
Please note: this is a self funded camp. Any type of state funding is to be organised between the state body and participating individual. States can choose to fund participants at their own discretion, there is no obligation to fund any participants.
What to bring: All participants please ensure to bring any equipment required for various styles of training session.
Swim caps are compulsory to use the pool for recovery sessions. If you do not own one, these can be purchased at the AIS for $6.50
Arrival time: All athletes are to arrive for a 10am start on Friday 23rd. Please arrive prior to this time, ready for the first session to commence.
Departure time: The departure time is 2pm on Sunday 25th June.
No late entries will be accepted for this event.
