The Wrestling Australia Junior Development Camp will be hosted at the Australian Institute of Sport from April 10-14. This event will be available to both athletes and coaches to attend.
Combat AUS has appointed Andrey Vorontsov (former UWW Coaching Educator and athlete) as the Coaching and Athlete lead for this camp. He will be supported by Wrestling Australia High Performance Manager, Brett Cash.
The camp is limited to 30 participants.
This camp is not for beginners. Prior experience in wrestling training and competition is required.
Is the camp compulsory?
This training camp is included in the selection process for U17 & U20 athletes wishing to attend the 2023 Oceania Championships. See here for the selection criteria.
This training camp is compulsory for all U17 & U20 male and female athletes who wish to be selected for the event.

Who else can attend?
Senior athletes are also invited to attend this camp, as it will be a valuable training opportunity in a high performance environment. Attendance for senior athletes is non-compulsory.
Athletes aged 13 to 15 are also invited to attend the camp. Attendance for these athletes is also non-compulsory.
Under 18?
All athletes that are under 18 must be be accompanied by a guardian for the camp.
Cost
Cost will vary between those who stay onsite at the AIS or arrange their own accommodation.
Onsite: Accommodation, meals, facility hire
Offsite: Meals and facility hire only (For discount code, email kyle.weekes@combataus.com.au)
Please note: this is a self funded camp. Any type of state funding is to be organised between the state body and participating individual. States can choose to fund participants at their own discretion, there is no obligation to fund any participants.
What to bring: All participants please ensure to bring any equipment required for various styles of training session.
Swim caps are compulsory to use the pool for recovery sessions. If you do not own one, these can be purchased at the AIS for $6.50
Arrival time: All athletes are to arrive for an 11am start on Monday 10th. Please arrive prior to this time, ready for the first session to commence.
No late entries will be accepted for this event.
