Wrestling Australia wishes to inform the wrestling community of the death of John Kinsela.
John Kinsela, Australian Aboriginal Olympic Freestyle Wrestler, competed at the Olympic Games in Mexica City 1968 and Munich 1972.
Between 1968 and 1972, John served in the Australian Army in Vietnam.
In 2017 Mr Kinsela was awarded the Order of Australia medal as part of the Queen’s Birthday honours for his service to wrestling and to youth.
Mr Kinsela was a life member of New South Wales and had recently been awarded life membership of Wrestling Australia.
Mr Kinsela passed away on the 9th November at the age of 70.
